KEEP – Traceability system for electrical and electronic products in a circular system
The KEEP project investigated the use of a traceability system for electrical and electronic products to promote sustainable new production, reuse, and recycling. Completed in March 2024, the project laid the foundation for further development of a digital product passport solution to improve lifecycle management of products. A phase two prototype is available online, allowing users to track information on products from various lifecycle actors.

Pioneering Digital Product Passports: Transforming textile industry standards
In line with the EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles, the Ecodesign for Sustainable Product Regulation (ESPR) mandates that all textiles sold in the EU by 2027-2028 must include digital product passports (DPPs). Our Trace4Value initiative is piloting the DPP system with over 3000 products from Kappahl and Marimekko, allowing consumers to access supply chain data via QR codes. A key milestone was the development of a Data Protocol to standardize information sharing across the value chain, ensuring compliance with ESPR and supporting scalable implementation.

Digital twins in circular value networks
This project aims to create digital twins of circular value networks with shared definitions and functionalities across the construction industry. Given the sector’s significant contribution to greenhouse gas emissions, circular flows like reuse and recycling are essential. A key focus is on enabling real-time data sharing across actors through a common vocabulary and decentralized data networks, which will be validated through a use case involving the circular flow of flat glass. This approach aims to drive more sustainable practices and reduce the industry’s carbon footprint.
